I've been in the trenches of web development since PHP 3 was the "new kid on the block." I've lived through the evolution of the web, from the early days of procedural PHP and Objective-C to the rise of Java, Laravel, and React.
I've built for the biggest names in the world, IBM, American Express, NBC, and I've seen every "next big thing" come and go. But as the owner of Oak Harbor Tech, I'm seeing a shift today that is more permanent than the others. There is a lot of noise in the industry right now about AI. You have to understand the hardware. My background in Objective-C and Java allows me to guide AI to write code that isn't just "functional" but performant. You cannot optimize an AI-built engine if you don't understand the memory management principles of C.
